Join Me for a Special Live Salon about Being Human In the Age of AI
Thursday, September 12, 7pm to 8:30pm ET
Have you been wondering what it means to be human in the age of “superintelligence?”
Join me for an interactive discussion about what AI can teach us about being human this Thursday, September 12 at 7pm ET.
In this salon, we will explore the utopian and dystopian narratives coming out of Silicon Valley, challenge the notion that some sort of superintelligence is imminent, and use that as an invitation to explore exactly what it means to be deeply human.

As artificial intelligence has captured the popular imagination, it has given technologists control of the cultural narrative about our future, what it means to be human, and the role that technology should play in their imagined cyborg future that is accelerating toward the so-called Singularity.
But this transhumanist narrative is founded upon a whole host of questionable assumptions about what is possible with technology, what qualifies as intelligence, and the very nature of reality.
As some of you know, all of this has inspired me to write a book about what is missing from that cultural narrative, which is why I’m using this Substack and my YouTube channel to work out the ideas in the book.
In this salon, we will:
- Unmask the AI hype: Critically examine the narratives surrounding AI, challenging the transhumanist ideologies embraced by Silicon Valley.
- Embrace our humanity: Explore uniquely human faculties like intuition, imagination, emotional intelligence, and wisdom in the face of emerging artificial intelligence.
- Reimagine the future: Discuss the metaphysical implications of a more embodied and grounded approach to humanity's evolution.
You will leave this salon with a newfound appreciation for your humanity, of inspiration for navigating the complexities of our technological future.
RSVP over at Interintellect so we can explore what it means to be human together.
See you there!
